You’re six years old, criss-crossed on the floor sipping your Capri Sun while watching Disney movies. Life is good. Now imagine getting all your favorite Disney movies in live action. Your childhood is ready for repeat.

Most of the people who will be watching these movies are adults because most of these original animated movies came out in the 90s.

“I think it’s pretty cool that these live actions movies are coming up,” freshman Angie Sierra said. “I’m hoping my nephew enjoys watching them just like I did when I was younger.”

This new version of The Lion King is a remake of the original movie, and has no changes to the story line. Disney is capitalizing on the nostalgia in a more vivid production for viewers who saw the original in its heyday.

“I think The Lion King is one of the movies that adults will like the most, because parents saw it when they were younger,” Sierra said.

Disney is releasing several sequels as well as remakes. Children and young adults alike can’t wait to see these movies hit the big screen this year.

“I used to watch Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty a lot,” Sierra said. “I thought I was a princess, and I think that is what Disney is all about, imagination.”
